UNA ROSA È UNA ROSA by Alina Marazzi

There was a time when Italian fashion did not exist. ‘Una rosa è una rosa' tells the extraordinary story of Rosa Genoni, who at the beginning of the 20th century invented Italian fashion. A designer before the word even existed, Rosa challenged French influence by promoting an authentic and independent Italian style that was the origin of 'Made in Italy.' But her impact went beyond the world of fashion: a staunch pacifist and champion of women's rights, Rosa fought throughout her life against the dominant patriarchy in the workplace, paving new paths for women. The documentary tells the story of a woman who, by intertwining art and activism, changed society and left a legacy that still resonates today.
